Abstract

This country report emphasizes the imperative integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Kenya's education sector to bridge the digital divide and enhance educational equity and quality. It identifies key areas for development and funding, including the need for improved computer access, internet connectivity, and pedagogical support for teachers. Addressing the digital divide, particularly among vulnerable groups in rural and remote areas, through donor support and subsidies is equally critical.

The report calls for inclusive ICT infrastructure to support learners with disabilities, advocating for a comprehensive approach to enhance interactive e-learning programs, aiming at creating a resilient, equitable, and quality educational system in Kenya.

Recommendations underscore the importance of improving basic infrastructure to ensure reliable power and internet access, leveraging mobile technology for educational purposes, and expanding ICT, notably in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and adult basic education. Additionally, the report recommends the establishment of partnerships between the public and private sectors to enhance resource mobilization and ensure the sustainability of ICT initiatives. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of continuous monitoring and evaluation of ICT projects to adapt to emerging educational needs and technological advancements.
