Abstract

This questionnaire is a comprehensive tool designed to gather valuable insights and feedback from various stakeholders involved in the formulation and implementation of National Book and Reading Policies (NBRP) in Africa. It aims to collect data on current practices, challenges, and recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of NBRP initiatives across the continent.

This structured questionnaire covers a range of topics, including the accessibility and availability of books, the role of government and private sectors, the impact of digital technologies on reading habits, and the effectiveness of current reading promotion strategies. It is divided into several sections, each targeting specific areas such as policy framework, stakeholder engagement, funding mechanisms, and monitoring and evaluation processes.

The primary objective of this questionnaire is to identify gaps and opportunities within the existing NBRP frameworks and to foster a collaborative approach among stakeholders. The insights gathered will be crucial in shaping policies that are inclusive, sustainable, and aligned with the needs of diverse communities in Africa. By engaging stakeholders at various levels, the questionnaire seeks to build a robust foundation for promoting a reading culture and improving literacy rates across the continent.
